Completed in 2010 and adopted into the Trans Canada Trail in 2012 the trail sees constant flow of traffic. People from the surrounding area use the trail to commute between the two cities, exercise, socialize and sight see. For help planning your trip check out the trail map page.
Passionate trail users post frequently to the NorthStar Rails 2 Trails Facebook page letting others know of a great ride they have had, extolling the virtues of the trail, sharing a quick picture or bringing a maintenance issue to our attention. The trail is maintained by the Cities of Cranbrook and Kimberley. Please contact them if you have any issues or concerns with the trail. The society promotes and enhances the trail. They seek funding for upgrades and special projects. The interpretive signs, benches, kiosks, repair stations are all society initiatives. The website, maps and Facebook page are all managed by the society.
